Panasonic has announced the DMC-FZ150 CMOS-powered 24X superzoom. The FZ150 is a replacement for the slightly unloved FZ100 and incorporates a lower-resolution 12MP sensor that the company says will outperform its predecessor's 14MP chip. The camera retains a 25-600mm equivalent lens but now incorporating 'Nano Surface Coating' to mitigate the effects of internal reflections. And, just like its predecessor, the FX150 retains the ability to record Raw images. The FZ150 also shoots 1080p60 HD movies in the recently-created AVCHD Progressive standard.

The DMC-FZ47 is a 12-megapixel digital camera with a powerful 24x optical zoom lens and 1080i video. It's notable because of its Create Video mode, which lets users change exposure settings like aperture and shutter speed manually, a level of control not yet seen in consumer cameras' video functions. Its 24x lens can also zoom in and out while recording video, and its zoom and autofocus mechanisms are designed to be quiet to prevent video recording from picking up the noise of the lens' motors. While shooting video, the camera can also capture 3.5-megapixel still shots.
